Dubai, Feb 11 (UNI) Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza has reclaimed the No.1 position in the ICC Men’s T20I All-Rounder Rankings following his side’s strong start to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Zimbabwe began their campaign with an eight-wicket victory over Oman in Colombo, with Raza contributing with both bat and ball, according to the International Cricket Council (ICC) website.
The cricketer returned figures of 1 for 17 from four overs to help restrict Oman to 103 at the Sinhalese Sports Club Ground and later struck the winning runs in a comfortable chase.
The performance lifted Raza one spot in the latest rankings update, allowing him to overtake Pakistan’s Saim Ayub to regain the top position, a spot he had previously held late last year.
Among other Zimbabwe players, Brian Bennett made notable gains in the T20I batter rankings after his unbeaten 48 against Oman. Bennett rose two places to 19th, achieving a new career-best rating.
Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan was the biggest mover inside the top 10, climbing four places to third following his 73 against the United States.
