- Family alleges forced poisoning
Bhopal: A 23-year-old youth died under suspicious circumstances in the Sukhi Sewania area of Bhopal late Saturday night. The deceased, identified as Salman Khan, son of Kallu Khan and a resident of Itkhedi, was reportedly assaulted and forced to consume poison by three individuals.
According to the father, Salman had gone to keep mango crates at Kaku Sharma’s garden in Sukhi Sewania. On his way back, he was allegedly stopped by a youth named Raja and two others. The trio beat him up and, according to the family, forcibly fed him sulphos tablets. Salman then managed to ride his bike back home, but collapsed upon arrival, with foam coming out of his mouth.
Before losing consciousness, Salman reportedly named his attackers and narrated the entire sequence of events. He was rushed to the hospital where he died during treatment in the night.
The grieving father said, “My son told me it was an unprovoked attack. He had no enmity with them. They beat him mercilessly and fed him poison. This is murder.”
Sub-Inspector Indal Singh, who is investigating the case, stated that a case has been registered and the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem on Sunday. Two suspects have been detained for questioning.
The family also claimed that the accused broke Salman’s mobile phone and made a video during the assault. Police are probing the circumstances surrounding the attack and the contents of the alleged video.
