Bhopal: The newly constituted executive committee of the Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress convened its first major meeting at the State Congress Headquarters in Bhopal on Friday, resolving to intensify organisational outreach down to the panchayat level. The gathering saw the participation of senior leaders including MP Congress in-charge Harish Choudhary, Indian Youth Congress (IYC) in-charge Manish Sharma, MPCC President Jitu Patwari, Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar, National General Secretary and MP in-charge Shivi Sharma, National General Secretary Mitendra Singh, co-in-charge Rupesh Bhadauria, and State Youth Congress President Yash Lakhhan Ghanghoria.
Addressing the office-bearers, Harish Choudhary urged Youth Congress workers to “raise every issue affecting public welfare boldly at the panchayat level.” Echoing the sentiment, Jitu Patwari emphasised the need for strengthening grassroots membership, stating that each worker must take a pledge to enrol at least ten young people at every booth across the state.
Leader of the Opposition Umang Singhar underlined the need to restore confidence among the youth, asserting that the Youth Congress must demonstrate its commitment to fighting for their rights with full strength. IYC in-charge Manish Sharma called upon the newly elected office-bearers and workers to actively contest panchayat elections to ensure adequate representation at the local level.
Youth Congress President Yash Ghanghoria affirmed that the organisation would expand its reach to villages and panchayats, taking up basic public issues with determination. National General Secretary Mitendra Singh remarked that the Youth Congress remains the only platform that empowers young individuals from ordinary backgrounds to rise to positions of responsibility and lead public struggles.
During the meeting, MP in-charge Shivi Sharma presented a 100-day action plan featuring door-to-door campaigns, panchayat chaupals, and other grassroots programmes. Media Chairman Abhigyaan Shukla informed that a training session was also conducted to guide workers on reporting activities through the IYC app, which will serve as the basis for performance assessment.
