Bhopal: The Youth Congress staged a protest in the state capital on Tuesday against Madhya Pradesh Tribal Affairs Minister Vijay Shah over his controversial remarks targeting Colonel Sofia Qureshi during “Operation Sindoor”. Led by Bhopal Youth Congress president Amit Khatri, party workers gathered outside the minister’s residence and smeared black paint on the nameplate, raising slogans in condemnation of the remarks.
Addressing the protesters, Khatri alleged that Minister Shah had insulted “the daughter of the nation”, asserting that Colonel Qureshi had brought pride and honour to the country through her service. He accused the Mohan government of shielding the minister and claimed that despite sustained public outrage, the government had continued to protect him for the past six months.
Khatri warned that if Vijay Shah failed to resign from his post, the Youth Congress would intensify its agitation and publicly blacken the minister’s face as a mark of protest. Several Youth Congress leaders and workers, including Prince Navange, Salman Gauri, Priyank Shekhar, Mohd Aamir, Mayank Disoria, Mohan Rudele, Anees Sharma and Rahul Giri, were present during the demonstration.
