Young minds ignite as Regional Science Centre hosts Annual Quiz

Bhopal: The Regional Science Centre in Bhopal became a hub of intellectual curiosity this Tuesday as the Inter-School Annual Science Quiz 2025-26 kicked off. Far from being a mere academic exercise, the event aimed to transform science from a classroom subject into a way of thinking. Addressing the 142 eager participants from 36 schools, Professor Amitabh Pandey, Director of the Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Manav Sangrahalaya, urged students to abandon rote learning in favor of logic and inquiry. He emphasized that cultivating a scientific temperament and the habit of questioning is a fundamental duty of every citizen. Joining virtually, Umesh Kumar Rustagi, Director of Nehru Science Centre Mumbai, noted that this platform has inspired thousands over the years to develop a lifelong passion for discovery. Following a rigorous written elimination round for both junior and senior categories, the top contenders will now prepare for the grand finale in February. This initiative remains a vital step in strengthening the analytical skills and scientific consciousness of the next generation.
