Lucknow, Jul 14 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath predicted on Sunday that the BJP will soar to victory once again in 2027.
Addressing the state working committee meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held at Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar auditorium of Dr Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University in the presence of national party president and Union Minister J P Nadda, Yogi urged the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs, MLAs, MLCs, district panchayat presidents, mayors, block pramukhs, chairmen and corporators to start preparations for the assembly by-elections to be held on 10 seats in the state as well as 2027 assembly polls from now on itself.
Lamenting the impact of caste division on 2024 LS polls outcome in UP, he appealed the BJP leaders and workers to be super active on social media and immediately refute any kind of rumours.
The CM said, “Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, we maintained constant pressure on the opposition and achieved great success in UP in 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2022. The BJP managed to secure a similar percentage of votes in 2024 as in previous elections. However, the shifting of votes and overconfidence hurt our expectations. As a result, the opposition, which was decimated in the previous elections, is engaged in chest-thumping today.”
He said, “When in 2022, the opposition had resorted to violence after the elections, our party workers felt that our government’s mafia-free UP agenda was actually meant for taking these goons to task. Today with your support, we have succeeded in making UP mafia-free. Apart from this, when Ram Lalla was seated in his temple in Ayodhya, the wait of 500 years has also ended. The BJP workers do not need to come on the backfoot in any situation.”
The CM said that during Muharram in the past, roads would often empty out, while today it is barely noticeable.
“Previously, houses were demolished for Tazia processions, peepal trees were cut, and road wires were removed. Today, we ensure that the houses are not demolished, nor wires removed. Our clear directive is to celebrate festivals according to the rules or stay at home. The BJP has demonstrated good governance with rule of law across the entire country,” he said.
Reflecting on the Covid period, he said that under the leadership of PM Modi, India set a model for the world to emulate by providing ration to 80 crore people without discrimination among people on the basis of caste, opinion, or religion and ensured that no one starved to death.
He said, “During that time, BJP and RSS workers were out on the streets risking their lives and serving the people, while no other political party was seen.”
Addressing the issue of encephalitis, Yogi mentioned that when Nadda became the Health Minister, he met him as an MP and the government prioritised the fight against the disease, which had terrorised Purvanchal for over 40 years, successfully eradicating it from the state.
He said that AIIMS is now operational in Gorakhpur.
He also noted that infrastructure in UP, once a distant dream, has significantly improved, with four-lane connectivity now common throughout the state.
The CM said that the government fulfilled its pledge to make Bundelkhand dacoit-free and has made the state mafia-free.
Remembering Dr Lohia, he said, “Lohia ji had said that as long as Ram, Krishna and Shiva are worshipped in India, no one can destroy India. But these socialists have tarnished the tradition of Ram, Krishna and Shiva,” he said.
He said, “When Raju Pal and Umesh Pal were murdered in Prayagraj, were they not from backward castes? Along with Krishnanand Rai, Ramesh Patel and Ramesh Yadav were also killed, were they not from backward castes? Today, those who offer prayers for the mafia, have again reached a position where they feel emboldened to shout and challenge.”
Yogi said that the medical college at Kannauj was initially named after Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, but the then SP CM changed its name, he claimed.
“However, when the BJP government came to power, it restored the name to honour Baba Saheb. The Samajwadi Party has consistently disrespected Dalit thinkers and great leaders,” he further claimed.
He said, “They attempted to undermine the reservation system for Scheduled Castes and worked to halt SC scholarships. In contrast, PM Modi created Baba Saheb’s Panch Teerth and placed the Constitution at the top in the new Parliament. The BJP is a party that upholds the highest respect for the Constitution, yet attempts have been made to disrupt the atmosphere through rumours and misinformation.”
The CM stated that the world knows that a divided India can be easily defeated, but a united one can withstand even the strongest forces.
“We must be vigilant against the division of power along caste lines witnessed in this election,” he said, emphasising the importance of utilising social media platforms effectively.
He said, “Opposition forces and foreigners successfully used social media to conspire against us. As a party with a nationalist mission, BJP workers must monitor social media, counter rumours immediately and highlight the party’s respect for Scheduled Caste leaders. In 2019, we defeated the largest alliance in the state.”
Yogi recalled that the BJP won all 17 mayoral seats in the municipal elections and the maximum number of municipal bodies seats.
“The party has maximum representation with chairmen and corporators across the state. The party also won the by-elections in Azamgarh and Rampur,” he said.
He exuded confidence that the party is poised to bag the 10 assembly seats during the upcoming by elections.
On this occasion, the CM congratulated and wished the newly elected MPs for their bright future and good tenure.
Earlier in the morning session, he welcomed national president Nadda and also planted a sapling.
Before the start of the programme, he garlanded the statue of Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar. He paid floral tribute to the pictures of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay and Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
On this occasion, state president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary, both Deputy CMs Brajesh Pathak and Keshav Prasad Maurya, national general secretary Vinod Tawde, Arun Singh, organisation general secretary Dharampal, National Minister Surendra Nagar, BJP officials from across the state, ministers in the state government, regional officials, MPs, MLAs, District Panchayat president, Mayors, chairmen, Mandal pramukhs were present.
