In Shardiya Navratri, devotees are busy in worshipping Matarani, on the other hand, in the city, one better than the other idols and tableaux of Maa Jagdamba are attracting the devotees. Here, on the second day of Durga Puja festival, on Maha Saptami, Dhunuchi Puja and cultural programs were held in the pavilion of Maa Durga along with Navpatrika Puja in all the Kalibaris of Bengali society including TT Nagar, BHEL. Maha Aarti and Sandhi Puja was held on Friday on Maha Ashtami.
Sarkar of TT Nagar Bengali Association said that on Thursday, along with Aarti, Prasad distribution was done on Maha Saptami. After this, a dance was organized under the cultural program from 9:30 pm. He said that on Friday, on Maha Ashtami, there was Maha Aarti of Maa Durga at 5 am and Sandhi Puja from 6 am. It is worth mentioning that on Wednesday, Durga Puja festival was started with Ghatasthapana in all the Kalibaris of Bengali society. In the Bengali tradition, Bilva Baron (Bilva Varan) Puja was performed on the first day of Durga Puja on Shashthi. Under this, the mother is installed as a symbol under the bael tree. This is called Bilva Nimantrana. This is how the mother arrives.
Here in Barkheda Kalibari of BHEL area, on Thursday, on Maha Saptami, the mother was invoked after the Navpatrika was brought into the Durga Mandap.
Before this, the Navpatrika was bathed and installed to the right of the Ganesha idol in the Mandap. It was wrapped in a new sari and vermilion was applied. Navpatrika is worshipped as a symbol of Lord Ganesha’s wife.
