Workshop on Rajbhasha held at RMNH

Bhopal: The Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH), Bhopal — a regional center under the National Museum of Natural History, New Delhi — organized a “Hindi Workshop” on June 27, 2025, to promote the effective use of Hindi in official communication. The session was led by Mrs. Shobha Lekhwani, Librarian and former Member Secretary of Narakas, Bhopal, a seasoned expert in Rajbhasha implementation.

The workshop commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Beenish Rafat, Scientist-D and Head of Office at RMNH, who introduced Mrs. Lekhwani and highlighted the museum’s commitment to promoting Hindi in administrative work.

Mrs. Lekhwani’s session offered deep insights into the importance of Hindi as the official language. She elaborated on the relevant constitutional provisions, the Official Language Act of 1963, and the Official Language Rules of 1976, including its nine key rules. She emphasized the significance of issuing documents bilingually and discussed the practical aspects of using Hindi in day-to-day administration.

She also introduced participants to institutions dedicated to promoting Hindi in governance, such as the Kendriya Hindi Samiti, Hindi Salahkar Samiti, and various Rajbhasha Karyanvayan Samitis. The session proved to be informative and inspiring, reinforcing the role of Hindi in strengthening official communication.
