Bhopal: The District Women’s Congress Committee organised a peaceful demonstration at Roshanpura Square in Bhopal on Saturday, demanding justice for women and girls whose deaths are allegedly linked to the Epstein files.
The protest was held following directions from All India Mahila Congress national president Alka Lamba and Madhya Pradesh Women’s Congress president Reena Borasi Setia. Women Congress leaders and activists gathered at the square wearing black clothes and staged a sit-in as a symbolic mark of protest.
Participants said silence on issues related to women’s safety, dignity and justice cannot be accepted. They asserted that the organisation would continue raising its voice until the truth behind the alleged incidents emerges and those responsible are brought to justice.
During the protest, demonstrators also demanded the resignation of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, whose name has allegedly surfaced in connection with the Epstein files.
Among those present were Rupali Sharma, Farzana Khan, Mehak Rana, Saroj Kamle and Nidhi Sharma, along with several Women’s Congress workers.
