Women police officers honoured at seminar on investigation excellence

Bhopal: The Women Safety Branch of Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters organised a seminar titled “Presentation and Felicitation of Achievements of Women Police Officers” at the new Police Headquarters auditorium on March 13. The event witnessed participation from 95 women police officers from across the state, ranging from the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police to Head Constable.

During the seminar, officers presented their experiences, challenges and achievements related to significant cases investigated by them. The presentations highlighted various aspects of criminal investigation, including the time taken for inquiries, difficulties faced during the investigative process and the methods adopted to overcome them. Participants also elaborated on scientific and legal procedures followed in evidence collection, important observations made by courts and the effective strategies used during investigations.

Based on these presentations, the investigations conducted by the participants were evaluated according to predefined criteria. On the concluding day, Special Director General of Police (Women Safety) Anil Kumar honoured selected officers for their outstanding investigative work.

In his address, Kumar emphasised the need for women police officers to carefully study the cases they investigate and analyse court verdicts to identify important lessons. Incorporating such insights, he said, would further strengthen the quality and effectiveness of future investigations.

Following the evaluation, Sub-Inspector Lakshmi Bagri of Maihar district received the first prize for outstanding investigation, while Sub-Inspector Monika Gaur of Narmadapuram district secured the second prize. The third prize went to Sub-Inspector Anjali Srivastava from urban police in Indore. For exemplary service, the first prize was awarded to Sub-Inspector Veena Vishwakarma of Tikamgarh district.

Participants also discussed practical challenges faced during field investigations and explored ways to improve the quality of investigative work. The seminar aimed to encourage women police officers and strengthen sensitive, effective and professional policing in the field of women’s safety.
