Bhopal: A 24-year-old married woman named Muskan allegedly died by suicide in the Kolar area of Bhopal in the early hours of Friday, police said. The incident reportedly occurred around 3:30 am at her residence in Sarvadharm, A Sector, where she lived with her husband, Anil.
According to Kolar police station in-charge, Sanjay Singh Soni, Muskan was found hanging. Her husband claimed the two had an argument before the incident after he caught her talking to another man over the phone. He alleged that Muskan had been in frequent contact with the man and had once even attempted to elope, though she returned home after persuasion.
Anil told police they had been married for seven years and had no children. On the night of the incident, a confrontation occurred when he again found her speaking to the same man. After the argument, he said he went to sleep but later woke up to find Muskan hanging.
Police were informed immediately. While no suicide note was recovered, Muskan’s mobile phone has been seized for forensic examination, as investigators believe it may offer crucial insights into the case.
Anil’s statement has been recorded, but statements from Muskan’s maternal family are still pending. Police are investigating the matter from all possible angles to determine the exact cause behind the extreme step.
