Greater Noida, Sep 13 (UNI) A woman and her 11-year-old son lost their lives after falling from the 13th floor of their residential building in ACE City Society, located in the Bisrakh area of Greater Noida on Saturday.
The incident happened around 10 AM and left the society residents in deep shock. According to eyewitnesses, people heard a loud sound and, upon checking, found the woman and child in critical condition on the ground. Emergency help was called immediately, but both were declared dead at the scene.
The deceased have been identified as Sakshi Chawla (37) and her son Daksh Chawla (11). They were residents of ACE City, where Sakshi lived with her husband, Darpan Chawla (40), a chartered accountant with a reputed private firm. At the time of the incident, Darpan was reportedly at home and resting.
As per initial findings, Daksh had been dealing with a long-term neurological condition, which had placed emotional and psychological stress on the family, particularly on Sakshi. Close acquaintances and neighbours stated that she had been under mental strain for some time and was undergoing medical treatment.
A note, believed to be written by Sakshi, was found at the residence. In it, she addressed her husband, expressing deep emotional distress and concern for his well-being. The contents of the note are currently under forensic examination.
Police officials, including the Bisrakh Station House Officer, have stated that while initial signs suggest extreme emotional distress and mental strain as possible factors for committing suicide, the investigation is ongoing.
The authorities are verifying handwriting on the note, speaking to neighbours, and recording statements from family and close contacts to understand the full context of the situation.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, and the family has been informed.
