Welker White added to Martin Scorsese’s ‘What Happens at Night’ cast

Los Angeles, (UNI) Welker White has been cast in Martin Scorsese’s upcoming feature “What Happens at Night”, completing the film’s core ensemble.

White, a long-time collaborator of Scorsese with appearances in films such as “Goodfellas”, “The Wolf of Wall Street”, “The Irishman” and “Killers of the Flower Moon”, joins a star-studded ensemble led by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence. Character details are under wraps. White joins a cast led by Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence, which also includes Patricia Clarkson, Mads Mikkelsen, and Jared Harris.

Hailing from Apple Studios and made in partnership with StudioCanal, “What Happens at Night” is an adaptation of the novel by Peter Cameron — a dream-like story following a married American couple who travel to a small, snowy European town to adopt a baby, reports DEADLINE.

Scorsese will direct and produce the film under Sikelia Productions, alongside DiCaprio, Lawrence and Daniel Lupi. Exec producers are Lisa Frechette and Marianne Bower for Sikelia, Jennifer Davisson for Appian Way, and Justine Ciarrocchi for Excellent Cadaver. StudioCanal announced the project in 2023 after acquiring the book rights, with Anna Marsh, Shana Eddy Grouf and Aaron Ensweiler set to exec produce for the company.

Also known for work in films like “Dead Poets Society”, Nora Ephron’s “This Is My Life”, HBO’s Emmy-winning “Bad Education” and Radha Blank’s “The 40-Year-Old Version”, White will next appear alongside Keanu Reeves in Jonah Hill’s Apple pic “Outcome”.
