- Honoring contributions to women and child welfare
 
Bhopal: The Women and Child Development (WCD) Department has announced a call for applications for the 2025 Awards, recognizing individuals and organizations that have made exceptional contributions in the fields of education, health, safety, and social reform for women and children. This year, a total of seven awards have been designated, with one new category added to further acknowledge outstanding efforts.
The Rani Durgavati Award will be conferred on women who have served society despite personal hardships, carrying an Rs 2 lakh prize.
The Rani Avantibai State-Level Bravery Award will honor women or girls who have protected women or children from abuse or acted against social evils such as child marriage and dowry. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh and a citation, with the closing date for nominations on November 15, 2025.
The Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Social Service Award and the Shri Vishnu Kumar Mahila Bal Kalyan Samaj Seva Samman—both with an award amount of Rs 1 lakh each—will recognize contributions in areas including health, education, and women’s empowerment.
The Chief Minister Nari Samman Raksha Award, open to both men and women, will honor acts of courage in protecting women, with state- and district-level categories. Additionally, the Rashtramata Padmavati Award and the Aruna Shanbaug Bravery Award, both worth Rs 1 lakh, will recognize advocacy for women’s dignity and acts of self-defense.
Applications can be submitted until January 5, 2026, depending on the award category.
