Bhopal: Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan is being conducted in the state from 30 March 2025, which will continue till 30 June 2025. In the campaign, rivers, ponds, lakes, old wells, stepwells and water streams of the state are being saved and revived. An action plan has been prepared for desilting, cleaning, demarcation and revival of water sources. In the campaign, citizens are being made aware about not flowing water unnecessarily, making proper use of water in daily life and rainwater harvesting by making rain water harvesting system on houses and soak pits around water sources.
54 bride and grooms entered married life under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah-Nikah Yojana in Chanderi of Ashok Nagar. Out of these, marriages of 46 girls and Nikah of 08 girls were solemnized. After the marriage rituals, the newly married couples and their family members were administered the oath of water conservation under Jal Ganga Sanvardhan Abhiyan.
In Chhindwara district, the MP Jan Abhiyan Parishad along with the villagers cleaned the banks of the Teendhari river coming from three directions in Junnardev’s Aadarsh ??village Bhootha Chhabari by doing voluntary work and cutting bushes and grass. The villagers were gathered and given information about Jal Ganga Samvardhan and water conservation and motivated to actively participate in water conservation works. By forming a human chain, they were sworn in to maintain cleanliness around water sources and prevent misuse of water.
