For the convenience of all the voters of Amarwara assembly constituency, tomorrow, voting day, there will be a public and general holiday.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Kamlesh Shah as its candidate from here. His main contest will be with Dheeran Shah of Congress. In the last assembly elections, Kamlesh Shah won from here as a Congress candidate, but during the Lok Sabha elections, he resigned from the Congress and joined the BJP. After this, he also resigned as an MLA from the assembly. Due to this, a by-election is being held here.

This area has been considered the stronghold of former Chief Minister Kamal Nath, but in the recent Lok Sabha elections, BJP’s Vivek Sahu defeated Congress’ Lok Sabha candidate and Mr Kamal Nath’s son Nakul Nath and won this parliamentary seat for the BJP. In such a situation, now the Congress is trying its best to capture this assembly seat once again.

Matter of prestige for both Cong, BJP

Winning Amarwara is a matter of prestige for both BJP and Congress, so both the parties have put their full strength here. At the same time, the Gondwana Republic Party has also put in its full strength.

Monday was the last day of campaigning in Amarwara. The election noise has stopped since Monday evening. In such a situation, veteran leaders of both BJP and Congress reached different areas of Amarwara for election campaign on Tuesday for door-to-door contact.

BJP bets on candidate who left Cong

BJP has made Kamlesh Shah, who left Congress and joined BJP, as its candidate. BJP last won the assembly elections in Amarwara in 2008. Since then, BJP is waiting for victory in Amarwara. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has taken charge from BJP. Congress is calling BJP candidate Kamlesh Shah a traitor and appealing not to vote for him. It remains to be seen whether the people of Amarwara will once again trust Kamlesh Shah, or Kamal Nath will be able to save his stronghold.
