“Vocal for Local”: Deputy CM Distributes Electric Pottery Wheels in Rewa

Self-Reliance Key to India’s Future

Rewa: Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla underscored the commitment to self-reliant India, stating that the nation’s goal will be fully realized only through the manufacture and use of indigenous products. Speaking at a program in Rewa, he lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for boosting “Swadeshi” products nationwide.

Empowering Traditional Artisans

The Deputy CM distributed electric shaila chak (pottery wheels) to 110 families of the Prajapati community under the Chief Minister’s Enterprise Scheme. He emphasized that the modern equipment will enable the community to preserve their traditional art and establish self-employment through the creation of local goods. He noted the distribution, coinciding with Dhanteras, was an auspicious step for the community.

Aiding the ‘Swadeshi’ Movement

Shukla congratulated former MLA Panchulal Prajapati for his efforts in organizing the event, calling the initiative a major mantra for “Swadeshi Jagran” (indigenous awakening). The Deputy CM symbolically spun a wheel himself and molded an earthen lamp. He also directed officials to ensure the distribution of the electric wheels to Prajapati families residing in the Nipania locality of Rewa city.
