- Promotes reading culture
Bhopal: The four-day Vishwarang Book Exhibition that concluded recently received an enthusiastic response from readers, students, and book lovers this year. The exhibition brought together nearly 25 leading publishers from across the country. A diverse collection of books—spanning literature, culture, science, children’s and youth literature, art, and various other genres—was displayed, attracting thousands of visitors.
A large number of youth and children from Bhopal explored the stalls, purchased books, and interacted directly with publishers. This knowledge-driven initiative emerged as an important effort to promote reading habits and encourage intellectual engagement among the younger generation.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Santosh Chaubey, Director of Vishwarang and Chancellor of Rabindranath Tagore University, along with Dr. Vikas Dave, Director of Sahitya Akademi, Madhya Pradesh. Both highlighted the rising interest in books as a positive cultural shift in society.
Renowned publishers such as AISECT Publications, National Book Trust, Sahitya Akademi, Rajkamal, Vani, Bharatiya Jnanpith Peeth, and Rajpal & Sons showcased their latest and best-selling titles, which drew particular appreciation from visitors.
Santosh Chaubey said that inspiring the younger generation to engage with books is the core mission of such events. “Literature is the most powerful medium to build understanding and sensitivity in society,” he added.
