- Notice issued to school principal, teacher
Bhopal: A video depicting a female teacher receiving a foot massage from a student has gone viral, prompting discussion on social media. The incident occurred at the Government Mahatma Gandhi Higher Secondary School in Gandhi Nagar. The District Education Department is taking the matter seriously and has formed a three-member inquiry committee tasked with submitting a report within three days. The findings will determine the next steps.
In the footage, the teacher, Anita Srivastava, is seen seated in a chair with one leg elevated on another chair while a fourth-grade student massages her foot. Other teachers at the school mentioned that similar incidents had occurred in the past, suggesting this behavior was not unprecedented.
In her defense, Srivastava stated that she had twisted her leg on a broken tile at the classroom entrance. She said the students assisted her and one of one of them massage her foot to alleviate the pain.
Principal says he was away on official duties
The school principal, AP Singh, asserted that he was away on official duties during the incident and provided video evidence to support his claim. He expressed confusion over why he received a notice regarding the situation.
