Venkatesh bows out of ‘Drishyam 3’

Hyderabad, Feb 25 (UNI) The Telugu arm of the “Drishyam” franchise has been thrust into uncertainty, with Venkatesh Daggubati reportedly stepping away from the third installment.

According to sources, the actor has significantly increased his remuneration following a string of recent successes. Industry insiders suggest that his revised fee may be beyond what the recession-hit Telugu film industry can currently accommodate.

The Malayalam original starring Mohanlal and the Hindi version headlined by Ajay Devgn both emerged as critical and commercial triumphs. With “Drishyam 3” currently in development in Malayalam and Hindi, momentum continues in those industries.

Unless Venkatesh is replaced by a more financially viable option, a move that could alter the franchise’s established appeal, the Telugu leg of “Drishyam” appears to be in jeopardy, as reported by Bollywood Hungama.

For the moment, the future of “Drishyam 3” in Telugu hangs in the balance. UNI NST SSP
