Chennai, Oct 1 (UNI) Young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi struck a boundary-filled unbeaten half century to lead India’s charge on the opening day of the first U-19 Youth Test against Australia at the M A Chidambaram Stadium here on Monday.
After bowling out Australia, which opted to bat first on a hot and humd day, for 293 in 71.4 overs, 13-year-old Vaibhav sizzled, scoring an unbeaten 81 in 47 balls with 13 fours and two sixers as India finished at a dominant 103 for no loss in just 14 overs.
Earlier, After Australia got off to a steady start, Indian seamers and spinners struck in tandem to restrict the visitors to 293.
Leggie Mohammed Enaan (3 for 48) and pacers N Samrath (3 for 49) a d Aditya rawat (2 for 50) shared the spoils.
