US: Zuckerberg meet Trump, incoming administration members in Mar-a-Largo

Washington, Nov 28 (UNI) Mark Zuckerberg, chief executive of Meta (banned in Russia for extremism), met with President-elect Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Largo estate in Florida, White House deputy chief of staff for policy Stephen Miller said on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, sources told Politico that Zuckerberg was in Florida to meet with Trump and several of his incoming administration officials. A spokesperson for Zuckerberg confirmed the visit to the newspaper, adding that the tech mogul was grateful for Trump’s dinner invitation.

“Yes, that’s right. And Mark Zuckerberg has been very clear about his desire to be a supporter of and participant in this change that we are seeing all around America, all around the world that Donald Trump is leading,” Miller told Fox News when asked to confirm reports of Zuckerberg visiting Mar-a-Largo on Wednesday.

Zuckerberg is one of many entrepreneurs and business leaders who understand that Trump is “an agent of change, an agent of prosperity” and want to help him achieve his goals, he said.

“[Zuckerberg] obviously has his own interests, his own company and agenda, but he has made it clear that he wants to support the… renewal of America under President Trump’s leadership,” Miller added.

Zuckerberg was one of the first businessmen to congratulate Trump on his election win, saying it was a “decisive victory.” He also said at the time that he looked forward to working with Trump and his administration.

Donald Trump, who was already in office after the 2016 election, won the presidential election on November 5, becoming the first US leader since the 19th century to return to the White House after a four-year hiatus.
