Ballia (UP), Sep 28 (UNI) A train accident was averted in Bairia area of Ballia area here in Uttar Pradesh after a stone was detected on the railway track on Saturday, railway sources said here.
Sources said that the incident took place when the loco pilot of Lucknow-Chhappra Express detected a stone of the railway track between Bakula-Manjhi railway stations after which he applied the emergency train. The stone later moved off the track after hitting the safety guard after which the loco pilot sent the train towards its destination after ensuring safety, they said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police M Usman has said that there were some scratch marks on the sleepers due to the train’s safety guard hitting the stone. “Railway operations are being carried out normally on the route. Police and railway officials who reached the spot are investigating the matter in detail,” he said.
