New Delhi, Several hundred Uttar Pradesh farmers, who marched towards Delhi on Saturday morning, were stopped at the Delhi-UP border near Ghazipur. A delegation of the farmers has been allowed to proceed towards Delhi for discussion on their demands with the Agriculture Ministry, the sources said.
A large number of farmers who began assembling in Noida Uttar Pradesh started marching towards Delhi’s Kisan Ghat in support of their demands including payment of sugarcane crop dues, complete loan waiver, electricity, etc. Farmers from several other parts of western UP are also on their to Delhi. Heavy security arrangements have been put in place at the Delhi-Up border near Ghazipur. The senior police officials of the Eastern range are on the spot.
