Jammu, Feb 24 (UNI) Member Parliament and Chairman Parliamentary Standing Committee on Coal, Mines and Steel and former Cabinet Minister, Anurag Thakur on Monday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has raised the Indian economy from tenth spot to fifth spot and we are heading to achieve third spot in the world.
“Focus is to increase the turnover of the units and the mission to achieve Viksit Bharat by 2047,” Thakur said addressing ‘Budget Pe Charcha’ organized by Mookerjee Samriti Nyas here at Jammu Club, Jammu.
Sat Sharma, President, J&K BJP, and Sunil Sharma, Leader of Opposition, J&K Assembly along with Spokespersons, Dr. Abhijeet Singh Jasrotia and Gaurav Gupta also spoke on the occasion.
Thakur, presented detailed insight on the Budget 2025 and said that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi increased the tax and the Cess up to 97 percent of income which gave rise to the culture of hiding money from the government. Due to the ill governance by the Congress party, hoarding black money in India began and now the Modi government is taking effective steps to bring the money into circulation by reducing tax.
Mentioning the new tax-free income slab up to 12 lakhs, he explained the benefits to the major chunk of the Indian Taxpayer population, stressing that it will boost the market by increasing the spending capacity of the people and hence boosting all sectors from service to manufacture.
He explained the benefits given in the Direct as well as Indirect Taxes to the people given by the Modi government. He also mentioned the increase in return update time limit.
Thakur enumerated the achievements and the projects of the Modi government like an increase in the number of Airports, AIIMS, IITs, IIMs, Universities, Medical Colleges, PG seats, electrification of railway lines, length of National Highways, rural roads, profit of Banks, tax benefit up to twelve lakh income and many more.
Thakur said J&K has received two Vande Bharat trains and mentioned that the erstwhile state got the Industrial Revolution in 2002 under Atal ji’s government.
Enumerating the steps to strengthen the MSMEs he said that limits are improved for funding in the enterprises. He said that steps to increase exports are being taken, along with their capacity.
He mentioned that start-ups have gained the number three spot in the world.
He said that industries like leather are being boosted along with the focus on value addition.
Mentioning that the prices of Cancer medicines are reduced by zero tax and Day Care Centers for Cancer patients, he took the vibe on Rahul Gandhi Congress party for hitting consecutive zeroes.
He mentioned the schemes like Medical cover to benefit more than one crore Gig workers.
Mentioning the increase in KCC loans from 3 to 5 lakhs, he said that the government is establishing Agri-Districts. As many as 50 tourism sites are to be developed on a fast-track basis, he said and mentioned the Mudra yojana for Home Stays.
Thakur said the Union government is focusing on clean tech by increasing the use of solar, wind, hydro energies, and Bio while increasing the refining the nuclear energy and clean gases from the Coal reserves.
He said that the world is looking towards to us and international companies are looking for Indian Companies to collaborate.
Atal tinkering labs are being opened to impart practical knowledge to the students and mentioned 1.5 lakh crores to state governments for this.
He laid stress on the Swanidhi yojana to help the business of Rehri-Fari owners.
He said that tourism, cottage industry, and others are being boosted in J&K.
Thakur said India is prepared for the 6G technology and said that India accounts for the highest digital transactions in the world.
Sat Sharma, said around one thousand years back India’s contribution to the world GDP was around 28 percent which was reduced to 3 percent GDP in 1947 due to the consistent foreign invasions. He stressed that under the progressive Union government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has achieved 5th spot in the world. This budget reflects Modi’s vision to achieve Viksit Bharat by 2047, he said.
