- Sisters to get Raksha Bandhan gift in their accounts on Aug 7
Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that all Ladli Behnas in Madhya Pradesh will receive an additional Rs. 250 in their bank accounts on August 7, as a Raksha Bandhan gift. He described this amount as a “small token of love from a brother,” which will be in addition to the regular monthly Rs. 1,250 provided under the Ladli Behna Yojana.
Addressing a Raksha Bandhan celebration organised by women working at ‘Best Lifestyle’ Company in Ujjain, CM said, “Every woman of the state is my sister — it is my pride and my honour. The Madhya Pradesh government is fully committed to ensuring that no sister faces hardship.” He informed that 1,500 women are currently employed at ‘Best Lifestyle’, and this number is expected to increase to 4,000 soon, as the state government has allotted a new site to the company, where residential facilities for women will also be provided.
CM Dr. Yadav highlighted the contribution of Pratibha Syntex, another major employer in the region, which currently employs over 7,000 women. These skilled workers are producing high-quality garments that are exported directly to the United States. The company has already exported 11 lakh units and aims to reach 20 lakh units shortly.
Hardworking sisters are the backbone of our progress
“I bow to the hardworking sisters who are the backbone of this progress. For me, my sisters are everything,” he added. CM Dr. Yadav also noted that earlier, textile mills in Ujjain provided employment to around 5,000 people, but today, the figure has crossed 20,000, and is continuously growing. He said, “Industries are coming to Ujjain, investors are showing interest in Madhya Pradesh, and this is creating jobs — a matter of pride for our state, both nationally and internationally.”
He called Raksha Bandhan ‘the king of festivals’, where sisters selflessly offer love, devotion and respect, often bringing honour to both their parental and marital families. He encouraged women to work with full dedication in such companies, emphasizing that employment is not just about earning a livelihood but also a shared responsibility toward growth.
