Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated the public representatives, officials, and citizens of Ujjain for their outstanding achievement. He noted that Madhya Pradesh has won a total of eight awards in the Swachh Survekshan 2024, which is a matter of great pride and joy for the state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for introducing multiple award categories in the cleanliness rankings. This inclusive approach ensured that deserving urban bodies across the country were recognized for their efforts. Speaking about Ujjain, the Chief Minister highlighted that Avantika city holds many unique identities. In addition to being the sacred city of Baba Mahakal, Ujjain is also recognized as a city of science and astronomy. With a rich historical legacy and deep-rooted patriotism in its culture, Ujjain continues to shine as a symbol of tradition, innovation, and civic pride.
World’s largest fair Simhastha: 2028 has to be made memorable: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain must be made a historic and memorable event, calling it the world’s largest religious fair. He said that in the coming years, Gwalior and Jabalpur will also evolve into interconnected metropolitan areas. Together with Indore-Ujjain, these twin metro clusters will become a distinct identity of Madhya Pradesh. Reflecting on the state’s progress, the Chief Minister said there was a time when people had to travel on narrow single-lane roads. Today, corridors like the six-lane Dewas-Indore highway and multiple four- and six-lane roads have significantly improved connectivity and eased transportation across the state. He added that, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, efforts have been made to both preserve India’s rich heritage and accelerate development. The upcoming Veer Bharat Museum at Kothi Palace in Ujjain will serve as a tribute to the nation’s great leaders and freedom fighters, showcasing the pride and patriotism that defines India’s legacy.
Ujjain Mayor Shri Mukesh Tatwal shared that during the award ceremony held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on July 17, where Ujjain was honoured as the best city in the 3 to 10 lakh population category, President Smt. Draupadi Murmu made a special mention of Ujjain three times in her address. He recalled that the President had visited Ujjain in September last year for a felicitation programme for Safai Mitras, where she also participated in sweeping the Mahakal temple premises as a symbolic gesture of respect for cleanliness efforts. MLA Shri Anil Jain Kalukheda praised Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s dedication, stating that the Chief Minister believes in action and has worked tirelessly for the approval of key projects like the Ken-Betwa and other inter-state irrigation initiatives. Ujjain Municipal Corporation President Smt. Kalavati Yadav credited the active role of public representatives, citizens, administrative teams, and Safai Mitras for the city’s remarkable achievement. The event was also attended by Shri Sanjay Agarwal, Shri Rajendra Bharti, several corporators, and Ujjain Municipal Commissioner Shri Ashish Pathak.
