UAE issues red alert post Iranian strikes, puts defence personnel on high alert

Abu Dhabi, Feb 28 (UNI) Issuing a massive defence alert, the UAE Defence Ministry said that it dealt speedily, and “with high efficiency” against Iranian air strikes, and confirmed that no damage had as of yet been reported.

The UAE has also put its armed forces on high alert and ordered operational readiness in case of any further enemy threats.

According to the ministry, debris from intercepted missiles fell in scattered areas of Abu Dhabi, including Saadiyat Island, Khalifa City, Bani Yas, Mohammed bin Zayed City and Al Falah. Authorities confirmed there were no injuries in the affected locations.

Slamming the attacks, the defence ministry called the attacks a “flagrant violation” of the country’s national sovereignty and blatant breach of international law, and further affirmed that the UAE reserves full right to take all necessary defensive measures to safeguard its territory and citizens, stressing that the protection of its residents and visitors remained Abu Dhabi’s highest priority.

Officials also urged the public to rely on official sources for updates and to refrain from circulating any unverified false information, amid the fresh wave of tensions that have engulfed the region, amid Israel, and the US’ sudden conflict against Iran.
