Bhopal: Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS) celebrated the release of two notable publications in the august presence of Principal Dr. Fr John P.J., Vice-Principal Dr. Sr Lima Jacob, Dean Academics Fr. Jomy Panithas, Publication In charge Dr. Manju Mehta and the entire staff. One was from the Humanities Department, The Visual Rhetoric in Early Buddhist Art of India, a scholarly monograph authored by Dr. Deepak Kumar (Humanities Department, BSSS), jointly authored with Dr. Jagpal Singh (Hebrew University of Jerusalem), and published by Research India Press, New Delhi.
The book offers a profound analysis of visual rhetorical strategies in early Buddhist art and adds significantly to the field of visual culture and religious studies.
The second publication was the 13th edition of Milestone, the Annual Literary Newsletter of the Department of English, titled “The Turning Leaf.” The launch event was compered by Neel Nagar (BA English, 3rd Year), who introduced the central theme, “From Transition to Transformation,” emphasizing literature’s power to inspire growth and introspection. Chief Student Editor, Arsheen Ashraf Ali, extended heartfelt thanks to the entire editorial team and acknowledged the constant support and mentorship of Editor-in-Chief Ms. Swara Joshi and the faculty members of the English Department.
