Dehradun, Nov 25 (UNI) Two persons, including former Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (Ukrand) central president Trivendra Singh Panwar, were killed and a youth was seriously injured when a truck rammed into them near Natraj Chowk in Rishikesh.
Police sources said on Monday morning that the cement-laden truck hit several vehicles parked outside a wedding point near Natraj Chowk late last night.
The wedding point was the reception of BJP leader Bhagat Ram Kothari’s son. Uttarakhand Kranti Dal leader Trivendra Singh Panwar (69) from Rishikesh, Gurjeet Singh (35) from Majri Laltappad and Jatin from Rohini in Delhi also came to join this party. The three came out of the wedding point together.
Meanwhile, a truck hit the vehicles parked outside the wedding point and crushed Trivendra Singh Panwar, Gurjeet Singh and Jatin. Gurjit was declared brought dead by doctors while Trivendra Singh Panwar was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Rishikesh for better treatment.
Five other vehicles parked there were damaged in the accident that took place late Sunday night.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed his condolences on the death of Mr. Panwar and others.
Expressing his condolences this morning, Shri Dhami said that I have received the sad news of the death of former central president and patron of Ukrand Trivendra Singh Panwar ji in an unfortunate road accident. I pray to God to give the pious soul a place in Shri Charan and give the bereaved family and supporters the strength to bear this immense suffering.
