Bhopal, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that two drops of the polio vaccine not only safeguard a child for life but also form the foundation of a healthy, strong and self-reliant nation. Appealing to all parents, he said that no child should be left without the protection of the polio vaccine.

CM Dr. Yadav stated that a disease like polio can make a child dependent for life; therefore, its complete eradication is the duty of every citizen. He informed that during this three-day campaign being conducted in 18 districts of the state, over 64,000 vaccinators will administer polio drops through more than 24,000Pulse Polio booths. Additionally, teams will go door-to-door to ensure that every child receives the vaccine and remains safe and healthy throughout life.

CM Dr. Yadav further informed that more than 39.19 lakh children in the targeted age group across these 18 selected districts will be given the polio vaccine.

CM Dr. Yadav inaugurated the three-day Pulse Polio Immunization Campaign (October 1214) on Sunday morning at his residence by administering polio drops to 12 children, marking the formal launch of the drive. He said that the fight against polio will continue successfully only if every parent ensures their child receives the two essential drops each time.

CM Dr. Yadav added that Madhya Pradesh is moving firmly ahead in realising Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Healthy and Strong India’. He emphasised that public participation is the greatest strength of this campaign and expressed confidence that with collective effort, Madhya Pradesh will soon become completely polio-free.

The event was attended by Municipal Corporation Chairman Shri Kishan Suryavanshi, Principal Secretary, Public Health and Medical Education, Shri Sandeep Yadav, State Immunization Officer Dr. Saurabh Purohit, along with senior health officials, doctors, Anganwadi workers, and public representatives.

Polio Drops to Be Administered in 18 Districts

Under the campaign launched on Sunday, polio drops will be administered to children from October 12 to 14 in the districts of Anuppur, Betul, Bhind, Bhopal, Chhindwara, Datia, Dewas, Gwalior, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, Katni, Khandwa, Khargone, Mandla, Mandsaur, Morena, Narsinghpur and Neemuch.
