New Delhi, Feb 23 (UNI) Two schools in the national capital received bomb threats via email on Monday, prompting security agencies to launch extensive search operations, police said.
The threats were sent to Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan and Air Force Bal Bharati School on Lodhi Road, officials said.
A senior police officer said school authorities alerted police in the morning after receiving the emails.
“A bomb threat was received via email at two schools, Army Public School and Air Force Bal Bharati School. As a precautionary measure, the campuses were evacuated and comprehensive search operations are underway,” the officer said.
Teams from Delhi Police, the bomb disposal squad, dog squad and Delhi Fire Services were deployed to the sites soon after the alerts. Areas around the schools were cordoned off to ensure the safety of students and staff, police said.
“We are working to identify the source of the emails, and the investigation is ongoing. No suspicious objects have been found so far,” the officer added.
The cyber cell is tracing the origin of the emails as search operations continue.
