- Strengthening education system is necessary for the foundation of developed India: Minister
Bhopal: School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh has said that to lay the foundation for Prime Minister Modi’s developed India of the year 2047, it is crucial to consistently strengthen the education system from now on. He said that the new education policy 2020 emphasises on the overall development of children. Because of this, the STARS (Strengthening Teaching-Learning and Results for States) project will play a key role in the transformation of the education system. Singh was addressing the two-day knowledge sharing workshop of the STARS project of the Union Education Ministry in Bhopal on Monday. Education secretaries of 17 states including Madhya Pradesh, state project directors and senior education officials and the state’s school secretary Dr. Sanjay Goyal attended the workshop.
Education Minister Singh said that when teachers will go to school regularly with a spirit of dedication and there will be cent percent attendance of children in schools, only then will we be able to achieve the objectives of education meaningfully. Speaking about the changing phase of education, he Singh said that since 2014, continuous efforts are being made to link education with skill development and employment in line with the vision of PM Modi. He said that in Madhya Pradesh, now emphasis is being laid on setting up ICT labs to make technology accessible to children even in remote schools. He gave detailed information about the state government’s dream project ‘CM Rise School’ in the workshop. The School Education Minister said that the Madhya Pradesh government has planned ‘Agriculture School’ for agriculture related education system in schools. Through this scheme, children will acquire education about farming and will adopt it with pride.
Budget should be fully utilized
Addressing the workshop, Union Education Secretary Sanjay Kumar said that the Central Government is trying to allot maximum budget amount to the states for education schemes. It is the responsibility of the states to utilise cent percent of the budget amount received. On this occasion, a book focusing on the STARS project was also released. An exhibition was also organised by the school children at the workshop venue. This was visited by the guests. The guests appreciated the efforts of the children.
