New Delhi, March 12 (UNI) The Foreigner Cell of Delhi Police on Thursday said that they have arrested two Bangladeshi nationals who were allegedly staying illegally in India.
The police said the accused were apprehended near Jahangirpuri Metro Station.
The Bangladeshi nationals were identified as Diptu Kumar Pal and Rama Begum. They were found living in India without valid documents.
During the operation, police recovered two smartphones and six Bangladeshi identity cards from their possession.
Officials said that both accused had previously entered India illegally and were earlier deported from Uttarakhand. However, they managed to re-enter the country and again became involved in illegal activities.
Police further revealed that the two were allegedly part of a solicitation racket and were helping people stay illegally in India.
Action is being taken against them under the provisions of the Foreigners Regional Registration Office, and they will soon be deported.
During the investigation, police also found that one of the smartphones had the banned IMO application installed, which the accused allegedly used for their illegal activities.
