Chronicle Reporter, Bhopal
In a dramatic turn of events, a truck driver attempted to run over police personnel in the Gandhi Nagar area of Bhopal on the night of January 31. The driver broke through a barrier and tried to flee after ramming his truck into several police vehicles. The chase lasted for over 100 kilometers, with the truck striking vehicles from multiple police stations, including Dial 100. The truck driver was eventually cornered in the Pachore area of Rajgarh district after running out of fuel.

The incident began when the truck, driven recklessly, entered the convoy of BJP State President BD Sharma, heading toward the airport. Police attempted to stop the vehicle using roadblocks, but the driver sped off, endangering lives. As he continued fleeing, he struck several police vehicles and ignored attempts to stop him. Despite efforts from multiple police teams across several districts, including Parwalia, Shyampur, and Biaora, the driver evaded arrest until his fuel ran out.

Fortunately, no major accidents occurred, but the driver’s reckless behavior put many lives at risk. Police later registered cases under multiple sections, including attempted murder, obstructing government duty, and damaging property. Authorities suspect the driver was intoxicated during the incident.
