Tripti Dimri, Sharvari Wagh and Ananya Panday in the race for Chandni Bar 2

Mumbai, Oct 3 (UNI) Actresses Tripti Dimri, Sharvari Wagh and Ananya Pandey are reportedly in the running for the principal role in the forthcoming sequel “Chandni Bar 2”.

The original “Chadni Bar”, directed by Madhur Bhandarkar and released in 2001, recently marked its 24th anniversary. This classic film, which unflinchingly portrays the harsh realities of society and the life of Mumbai’s dance bars, earned Tabu a National Award and shaped Indian cinema.

The sequel, tentatively titled “Chandni Bar Re-Opens”, produced by Sandip Ssingh and directed by Ajay Bahl, promises to once again explore the city’s socio-cultural dynamics while retaining the narrative depth and realism that defined the original.

But the most debated topic right now is the film’s lead casting. The biggest question is who will play the role of Tabu, the iconic Mumtaz. Three young and talented actresses are reportedly in the running, including Sharvari Wagh, Ananya Panday, and Tripti Dimri, according to Filmfare.

The sequel will go on floors in early 2026 and is expected to be released by the end of that year.
