Trichy wins Champion’s Trophy

Bhopal: The BHEL Inter-Unit Athletics Tournament 2025 concluded on Thursday at the BHEL Bhopal Sports Club with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The closing ceremony was presided over by T. U. Singh, General Manager (Human Resources). Also present on the occasion were Hemram Patel, General Manager (SCR); Janmejay Sharma, General Manager (Finance); Sapan Suhane, Additional General Manager (HSE); Upendra Kumar Singh, Additional General Manager (Public Relations); and several other senior officials.

A total of nine teams from various BHEL units across the country participated in the tournament. The Trichy unit emerged as the overall champion, lifting the Champion’s Trophy, while Bhopal and Ranipet units secured the First Runner-up and Second Runner-up positions respectively. Shekhar Chandra Dharua from Bhopal unit was declared Man of the Tournament, winning two gold medals for his outstanding performance.

In his address, T. U. Singh congratulated the winners and participants, emphasising that such events foster unity and build lasting relationships among employees. “Just as every BHEL unit contributes uniquely to manufacturing different products that together power the nation’s growth, teamwork and collaboration among employees enable BHEL to reach new heights each day,” he said.

Hemram Patel, in his remarks, described every BHEL employee as a “warrior” capable of achieving the most challenging tasks with determination and discipline. He urged everyone to ensure that “not a single drop of our hard work goes to waste” by carrying out every responsibility with complete dedication and focus.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by V. S. Chauhan, Additional General Manager (Sports Club).
