- Educational materials distributed to 79 students
Bhopal: On the occasion of the 79th martyrdom day of Amar Shaheed Birbal Dhalia, a solemn memorial meeting was organized at the Samaj Dharamshala in Lakherapura. The event, held under the joint aegis of the Jingar Samaj and Shaheed Birbal Dhalia Jan Kalyan Parishad, commemorated the young freedom fighter who laid down his life on 1 July 1946 at the age of 27 while protesting British rule.
To mark the day, educational materials were distributed to 79 students facing financial hardship. The tribute program began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and garlanding of Birbal Dhalia’s portrait by President Ajay Pawar, Om Prakash Borana, Pankaj Chouksey, councilor Vinita Vikas Soni, Saroj Hariom Aseri, Prithviraj Chauhan, and Ashok Sankle. They emphasized the importance of remembering martyrs and fulfilling our national duties.
Convener Bhagwandas Dhalia recalled how Birbal led a massive anti-British procession in Raisingh Nagar and was martyred after being shot three times, never letting go of the tricolor. Organization spokesperson Prem Pawar demanded the installation of Birbal Dhalia’s statue in Bhopal and inclusion of his legacy in school curricula. A pledge was also taken to build the nation in line with the vision of its martyrs.
