Training on “Indian Knowledge Tradition” held at NITTTR

  • Character and values must be central to education: Uttam Dwivedi

Bhopal: A training program was organized in the series of ongoing training programs on Indian Knowledge Tradition for professors posted in government colleges of Higher Education Department, at NITTTR Bhopal. The main speakers of this lecture were Dr. Avnish Bhatnagar, Dr. Lalit Bihari Goswami and Dr. Uttam Dwivedi.

Avnish Bhatnagar, presenting the concept of Indian education philosophy in detail, told that education is not just giving information, but is a process of building a holistic personality. Bhatnagar also gave the ‘Mool Mantras of Teaching’ to the teachers and said that the aim of a teacher should not be only to teach, but to be a carrier of life values.

On the other hand, Prof. Lalit Bihari Goswami said that what is original is valuable. In India, the specialty of love for knowledge or realization has always been there. Knowledge can give arrogance but learning gives humility. He said that teachers should go to class with curiosity and not doubt.

Prof. Uttam Dwivedi said that right conduct will keep the society united. The aim of education is not only professional efficiency but also the establishment of character and values. Now the time has come that we should again irrigate the roots of our golden past with Indian life values and take a pledge to make India the world leader again.

Director of NITTTR Dr. C.C. Tripathi said that it is the collective responsibility of all of us to make Indian perspective, value-based and holistic education contemporary relevant with scientific facts. Dean Science and IKS Head Prof. P.K. Purohit said that this initiative is not only an effort to restore the rich heritage of India but also a strong cultural message to awaken national pride. The program was conducted by Sanjay Tripathi.
