Tragic road accident in Rewa claims 7 lives

Rewa: A horrific road accident in Rewa district has led to the death of seven people, including children, after a truck laden with cement sheets overturned onto an auto-rickshaw. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed profound grief over the incident and announced financial assistance of ?2 lakh to the families of the deceased.

The devastating accident occurred on Sohaghi mountain. A family from Mauganj, returning from a holy dip in the Ganges at Prayagraj, was traveling by auto-rickshaw when a cement-laden truck suddenly lost control and toppled onto their vehicle. Four individuals died instantly at the scene.

Children Among the Deceased, Three Injured

Two more victims succumbed to their injuries while being transported to the hospital, and one passed away during treatment. Three others are currently receiving medical care. The impact of the collision was so severe that the auto-rickshaw was completely mangled. The deceased have been identified as 38-year-old Heeralal Jaiswal, 35-year-old Pinky Jaiswal, 8-year-old Ambika Jaiswal, 7-year-old Manvi Jaiswal, 6-year-old Arvind Jaiswal, and 12-year-old Saurabh Jaiswal.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav conveyed his condolences on X (formerly Twitter), stating, “My heart is heavy with the tragic news of 7 pilgrims from Nai Garhi, Mauganj district, losing their lives and 3 being injured after a truck carrying cement pillars overturned on their auto-rickshaw near Sohaghi village in Rewa district while they were returning from Ganga Snan in Prayagraj.” He assured that the Madhya Pradesh government stands with the victims in this time of crisis. Instructions have been issued to provide ?2 lakh to the nearest legal heirs of the deceased and ?50,000 to those critically injured. He concluded with a prayer to Baba Mahakal for peace for the departed souls and strength for the grieving families, wishing a swift recovery for the injured.
