Had informed her brother she will be coming to Bhopal

Harshita’s father, Pradeep Sharma, shared that she frequently traveled outside the city. On Wednesday night, she had informed her brother via WhatsApp that she would be returning to Bhopal on Friday, unbeknownst to them that she had arrived a day earlier. She was staying at a hotel near Minal Residency.

The family learned of the accident when Harshita’s friend Shivani called to inform them that she was hospitalized. Upon arriving at the hospital, the family was devastated to learn from doctors that Harshita was brain dead and she was declared dead on Friday morning.

According to police reports, Harshita had been traveling in Kolar with her friends Sujal and Jai when the car plunged into the canal after the driver swerved to avoid the cow near the bridge close to Holy Cross School.
