- Devotees Struggle Amid Negligence
Bhopal: There was a massive traffic jam on Bhojpur Road near Bhopal on Sunday afternoon, stretching for about two and a half kilometers from Bangrasia to the Bhojpur temple. Devotees and other commuters were stuck for nearly two and a half hours, facing considerable inconvenience.
Shockingly, there was no deployment of traffic police along the entire route. Akhilesh Shivpuria, a local commuter, pointed out that the primary causes of the jam were poor road conditions and encroachments by carts and shops in the Bangrasia market area.
Adding to the congestion was the heavy turnout of devotees visiting the Bhojpur temple, as is common on Sundays. Both two-wheelers and four-wheelers were reduced to a crawl, leading to disputes at several spots — yet there was no authority present to manage the situation.
Frustrated devotees and local residents voiced their anger, noting that such crowds are a regular occurrence every Sunday, but no consistent traffic control measures are put in place. The absence of traffic police across the entire stretch raised serious questions about administrative preparedness.
