Traditional treasures draw massive crowds at Bhopal Haat Holi Fair

  • Homemade delicacies and organic colors by Aajeevika Didis become the heart of festive shopping

Bhopal: On the joyous occasion of Holi, the city witnessed a unique blend of festivity and empowerment as Aajeevika Didis organized a special Holi fair at Bhopal Haat. Held from February 21 to March 2, the Aajeevika Mart became a lively marketplace showcasing the creativity, culture, and enterprise of rural women from across Madhya Pradesh.

Women from nearly 15 to 20 districts, including Indore, Sehore, Sagar, Sidhi, Balaghat, Anuppur, Satna, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Dhar, Jhabua, Mandsaur, Betul, Vidisha, and Burhanpur, brought with them a rich collection of handmade and traditional products. Visitors experienced a vibrant glimpse of the state’s art, flavors, and craftsmanship all under one roof.

Organic gulal a major attraction

A major attraction was the organic gulal prepared by sisters from Balaghat. Made using natural ingredients such as dried palash flowers, arrowroot, turmeric, gram flour, beetroot, and moringa, these colors are completely chemical-free and safe for both skin and environment. The initiative reflects growing awareness about eco-friendly celebrations.

Sidhi’s Mahua Laddus and Anuppur’s Kodo biscuits

Sidhi’s Mahua Laddus and Anuppur’s Kodo biscuits also drew attention. Prepared without adulteration and sourced directly from farmers, these products highlight purity and local sourcing. Organic spices, khoya, and homemade gujiyas further added to the festive charm.

Visitors appreciated the authenticity of the products. More than just a fair, Aajeevika Mart stands as a powerful example of rural women achieving self-reliance. By connecting livelihood with celebration, this Holi fair truly colored lives with dignity, opportunity, and hope.
