- Kshipra River should be made pollution-free at any costs: CM
Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav discussed with senior officials the plan to make Kshipra River pollution-free under the proposed action plan for Simhastha 2028 in a meeting at Samatva Bhawan Chief Minister’s residence.
In the meeting, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav apprised himself on several projects: the diversion of the Kanh River, the construction of 11 barrages on the Kanh River, the continuous water flow scheme for the Kshipra River in preparation for Simhastha, the construction of 18 proposed barrages on the Kshipra River, and the development of bathing ghats along the Kshipra River. Dr. Yadav emphasized that all work should be completed within the set deadlines, ensuring high quality. Additionally, he stressed that ongoing construction should not inconvenience local residents.
A presentation on the progress of the works was given in the meeting. Under this, information related to the proposed structures on the Kshipra River, construction of proposed barrages, and the construction of necessary ghats was given. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav instructed to use stones and materials which will be useful in the long run in the construction of ghats.
Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat, Chief Secretary Smt. Veera Rana, Additional Chief Secretary Chief Minister’s Office and Water Resources and Narmada Valley Development Department Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Principal Secretary of Chief Minister’s Office Sanjay Kumar Shukla were present in the meeting.
