Thunderstorms with lightning likely in Telangana over next 48 hours: Met

Hyderabad, March 19 (UNI) Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places across several districts of Telangana over the next 48 hours, the Meteorological Centre said on Thursday.

According to the daily weather report, such conditions are expected in districts including Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mahabubabad, Warangal, and Hanumakonda during the next 24 hours.

Similar weather is likely to prevail on Friday in Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are also likely at isolated places across the state during this period.

Maximum temperatures are expected to remain 2–4°C below normal for the next three days, followed by a rise to 2–4°C above normal over the subsequent three days. Dry weather conditions are likely to prevail across Telangana from March 21 to 25.

Meanwhile, as per reports, a hailstorm occurred at isolated places in Jogulamba Gadwal district, while rain was recorded at one or two places in the state during the past 24 hours.

The highest maximum temperature of 33°C was recorded at Khammam, while the lowest minimum temperature of 14.8°C was recorded at Medak, the report added.
