Amaravati, June 16 (UNI) The Meteorological Centre has forecast thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning, at isolated places in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam over the next five days.
In its daily weather report issued on Monday, the Met Centre said similar weather conditions are expected in South Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam during the next 48 hours.
Gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph are likely at isolated places across Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema during the next five days.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely at a few places, or at isolated places, in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema over the next seven days.
The report also mentioned that the cyclonic circulation over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas persists and is now observed between 1.5 km and 5.8 km above mean sea level, tilting southwestward with height.
Meanwhile, the trough from East Madhya Pradesh to Bangladesh across Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal, extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level and tilting southwestward, has become less marked.
Rain was reported at a few places in Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema, the report added.
