Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds likely in Telangana over next 24 hours: Met

Hyderabad, Mar 23 (UNI) Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with speeds ranging from 30-40 kmph are likely to occur at isolated places across several districts of Telangana in the next 24 hours, according to the Meteorological Centre here on Sunday.

The affected districts include Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal.

The daily weather report stated that light to moderate rain or thundershowers are also likely at isolated places during the same period.

Maximum temperatures are expected to remain slightly below normal for the next two days, followed by a gradual rise of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius across the state.

Dry weather is likely to prevail from March 24 to 29.

According to media reports, a hailstorm was observed in isolated places in Kamareddy, Vikarabad, and Siddipet districts in the last 24 hours. Rainfall was recorded at one or two locations in the state during this period.

The highest maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius was recorded at Adilabad on Saturday, the report added.
