- Wind gusts expected to reach 60 km/h as cyclonic systems intensify
Bhopal, The monsoon-like spell continues across Madhya Pradesh, with several districts bracing for intense weather conditions on Friday. According to the Meteorological Department, heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is expected in Sheopur Kalan, Pandhurna, Sagar, Damoh, and Raisen. Winds may reach speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour, raising concerns over localized disruptions.
Meteorologists report that a low-pressure system has formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal, which is driving the current weather pattern. This system is situated about 0.9 km above mean sea level and extends from southeast Rajasthan through north-central Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Gangetic West Bengal, all the way to the coastal regions of Bangladesh and West Bengal.
Additionally, an upper air cyclonic circulation is active over northern parts of central Uttar Pradesh at an elevation of 1.5 km, further intensifying the rain-bearing systems across the region.
As a result, more rain and thunderstorms are likely in several districts including Agar, Morena, Neemuch, Guna, Shajapur, Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, and Gwalior. Residents in these areas are advised to stay alert for sudden changes in weather and strong winds.
With these systems remaining active, the state can expect continued rainfall in the coming days, bringing both relief from the heat and potential challenges due to gusty winds and localized flooding.
