“Those behind conspiracy will be brought to justice”: PM Modi after meeting victims

New Delhi, November 12 (UNI) Soon after returning from his two-day state visit to Bhutan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday visited Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital to meet the victims of the Red Fort blast and assured that those behind the attack would be brought to justice.

Taking to social media platform X, PM Modi wrote, “Went to LNJP Hospital and met those injured during the blast in Delhi. Praying for everyone’s quick recovery. Those behind the conspiracy will be brought to justice.”

The Prime Minister interacted with the injured and wished them a speedy recovery. He was also briefed by officials and doctors about their condition.

Security was tightened around LNJP Hospital ahead of his visit. The powerful explosion ripped through a parked car near the historic Red Fort on Monday evening, killing 13 people and injuring several others.A senior Delhi Police official confirmed that the death toll in the explosion has risen to 13.

Later in the day, PM Modi is scheduled to chair a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to review the situation following Monday’s deadly blast near the Red Fort.

During his Bhutan visit, the Prime Minister had expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, stating,“A tragic incident took place in Delhi. I understand the pain of the families who lost their loved ones. The entire country stands with them in this hour of grief. Our agencies will get to the bottom of the conspiracy and ensure that the guilty are punished.”

A day after the National Investigation Agency (NIA) formally took over the investigation into the Delhi car blast, a special probe team has been constituted to expand the inquiry’s scope.

The team, comprising ten officers, will be led by Additional Director General (ADG) Vijay Sakhere. It includes an Inspector General (IG), two Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs), three Superintendents of Police (SPs), and a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). Officers from the Delhi Police are also assisting the central agency.
