Club Literati, in association with Niyogi Books, organised an engaging book discussion with author Anurag Tripathi on his latest thriller, The Goa Gambit, at Arera Club, Bhopal on September 22.
The Singapore-based former banker indulged in a riveting conversation with Vivek Rai Marwah, author of the Mind Traveller and Dr. Seema Raizada, President of Club Literati.
The event commenced with the award-winning author’s welcome and a discussion into his journey from being a banker to an author, at the age of 35.
His book The Goa Gambit, is a fast-thriller set in the glamorous world of Goa casinos that uncovers the murky world of gambling but which brings a boom in the tourism industry in Goa. The book was discussed along with his other novels Kalayug and Dalal’s Street, which deal with art market and stock market respectively.
His charisma and enigmatic storytelling had the audience on their feet as the conversation flowed from his personal journey in finance to the politics and power that affect the financial system.
The session was closely followed by a Q&A, where the audience and the author engaged in a discussion on the current economic system and the underlying factors responsible for the performance of the global economy.
The momentous event was concluded by book-signing and a vibrant interaction between the guests and the members of the audience.
